A mother, teacher and writer, a friend and forever student, my life is full, involved and vital.
I am happy – not because things are going so well in the world but because I have sharp tools: sieves, balances, filters. I also have wonderful gifts: two precious children, Tim and Sonia and wonderful friends.
But there is more: there’s great health, a passion for reading, a speaking talent and a way with words that may be part of my Scots-Irish-French Canadian heritage. I delight to see beauty all around me and where it is not, to create it. A sister once said to me, “If you want to know your creator, then co-create!”
As a teacher in Montreal for over twenty five years, I have come to understand that my best gift to others is to heal my own life and to live my own talents well.
My understanding of teaching has changed over the years….as much as it is about sharing perspective and ideas, it is about encouraging others to be all they can be, never to create dependencies but always to empower everyone to shine their own fullest light. This far precedes any curriculum to be covered. Disempowerment and diminishment of people by dominant others is never truly successful. The Unconscious knows. The Instincts know and the Spirit knows. It is only a matter of time before the wheel turns. And it does turn. Oh, yes, it does.
